I just recently purchased the HD-PVR and it is working some of the time. Sometimes recordings work, and other times they don't. It seems to be very random.
Additionally I have noticed that sometimes a recording will take place but the lights indicating that its recording don't light up.
I also have problems with the Audio going in and out of sync during playback, sometimes pausing, ff, or rw helps but most of the time it wont.

Here is my setup
I am using the HD-PVR with a Dish Network VIP 222 set to 1080i and using the optical connection for audio, I haven't tried stereo yet to see if it helps with any of the problems.

Im pretty sure its not a heat issue because I have plenty of cooling around it.

I have posted the section of my recording service log that shows the error I am seeing with the HD-PVR, it occurs with recordings that work and fail to record. The logs should have both recordings that worked and didn't work.

Code:

I cant see any sign of obvious problems in the logs.

Quote:I also have problems with the Audio going in and out of sync during playback, sometimes pausing, ff, or rw helps but most of the time it wont.
I notice your audio renderer is set to something other than 'system default'. This is common cause of audio/video sync issues, so try setting it back to 'system default'.

The logs are for the server but I will check the clients audio render. On a side note I don't get audio sync problems on any other recordings, my ota hd recordings are made using the dvr-ms mux. Would a section of a recording help if the issues keeps occurring?

The errors in the section of log I posted about connecting of the pins failing, is that a problem

Thanks for the help Smile

When it comes to the HD-PVR, GB-PVR doesnt play any part in the stuff that could lead to audio video sync issues. The transport stream files are generated by the HDPVR's hardware encoder. At playback time the audio/video sync is maintained by the decoders and the renderers you use. So, the most likely thing you can do is try different audio/video decoders and renderers.
