I wanted to throw out a heads up to anyone that may be interested that the next release of EWA will contain a secured web services interface. This stemmed out of some discussion on providing a Silverlight based interface for EWA.

Services will include:
TV Guide - Can filter date range and genre
Schedule Programme
GView Programme/Schedule Detail Info
Manage Recordings
Delete recorded programme or scheduled proramme
Search (including saved search functionality interface)
I am close to being ready to beta this out. Anyone that is interested in developing new interfaces into GBPVR can use the web services as a way to develop something in Java, .Net, Silverlight or anything that can consume/work with web services.

I will include a windows based app that allows you to interact with the web services....should just need to update a config file with the location of your GBPVR server and your userid and password and it should work. It is very rudimentary and is really just to validate that you can connect and interact with the services on your GBPVR server as well as showing an example of how to interact with the services.

If you are interested in testing this out just post a response in this thread and let me know.

It could also be handy for a Windows Mobile interface from cell phones...

I might see a programming project coming up!
