Can anyone tell me if there is any way to set *some* stations to use LivePreview when possible, and *other* stations to always use timeshift?

The reason I ask is that I have been unable to make use of the "Live Preview" commandline. When I try to launch a process as a result of selecting a streaming station for live preview, the internal player just gets stuck on a black screen. Everything is fine in Timeshift. I suspect that streaming stations from the Internet is simply incompatible with the notion of a "live preview." However:

Is it possible that the player is expecting the file to be in a different folder for Live Preview than for Timeshift? If so, how do I find that folder, and how do I set my process to distinguish between being launched for Timeshift and launched for LivePreview?

Dont know of any setting that permits you to use live preview/ timeshift for selected channels.

I assume you're using the external apps tab of the GraphRecorder plugin. . . live preview means that the stream gets displayed straight away, without being buffered to disk. GBPVR passes the display on to the process when set for live preview (I think...) so any process that results in the stream being displayed full screen should work. If you get a full screen display of the video when running the process from a normal command line then it should work in the same manner in GBPVR using the plugin (something like "vlc.exe -f http://yourstream"). That's how I got it working anyway.

{EDIT + ADDT} I found timeshift mode the best. I could get the live preview working but it was "clunky" if you paused or recorded while watching a program (which sends GBPVR into timeshift mode) plus I didnt get the OSD in live preview mode.

Live Preview vs Timeshift is a gbpvr setting and its all or none.

Live Preview does not use a file it uses a direct connection to directShow filters so external commands won't work at when using it.

Then why does the Graphrecorder settings screen ask for an external EXE to be entered for live preview?

its optional - perhaps you want something else done during live preview (ie channel change etc.)

That makes sense. Thank you.
