I thought I'd throw out a few items I'd love:

The ability to set my slideshow/music to random. I have seen other posts which say to install plugin X or software Y and hope it works - I'd rather have something built in. Oh, and the ability to loop music and photos.

Ability to adjust the size of the font and window in config. I have a old TV with the font size cranked up as large as I can, however I am unable to adjust the font size for windows like config. I've found a workaround by using the magnifier. Also, If the config window scrolled, that would be great!

Move the cancel button away from the close button in the recordings section. They are right next to each other, and I've hit them by accident more than once. (Yes, I've already found the check box in config for the extra "are you sure..." window, thank goodness!) In general it would great if I could move any of those buttons around if I want. Another button I have a hard time with is play & resume. I'd love for resume to be on top.

To be able to remove the exit button from the main menu without the bug monster getting me. Smile

Both the default Music Library and Music Library2 support random play of your entire collection (I think the Music plugin does too, but I'm not sure). If you install MLPanel, point it at your photo collection and set it as your default Screen Saver you'll get random slide shows (whether you are playing music or not).

OK, so it involves installing plugin(s), but it does work (without any hope involvedBig Grin)

Sub added a real simple play random feature in the Music Library for his wife a while back, from within Music Library all you have to do is press "play" (ctrl-p) when you highlight a directory & it will start playing the contents randomly, I use this feature all the time Smile

I would also recommend giving MLPanel a go I also use it all the time to display random slideshow with or without music (but then I'm probably rather biased being the other developer of it <grin>) but it does work really well (without any hope involved).

Woohoo! Yah for the wife! lol. That's just what I was looking for, thanks!

Yes, hope is required! No offense, but in general Plugins hate me. I've had the worst time with them. (And yup, I've only tried new shiny approved for the newest version kind. Well, except for Blinky, and it's working fine at the moment.) Maybe in a few months when I can afford for this rig to be not working, I'll give a few more plugins a try. And with all that said, I really don't want a photo screen saver, I would like to be able to play a photo slide show some times - like at a party or a holiday time event.

I went through this stage as well a few years ago & started thinking all plugins were total c@#p but since then I have tried quite a few & they work fine so maybe the wind was just blowing from the wrong direction or I was holding my tongue the wrong way back then. BTW I insisted MLPanel had full instructions on how to uninstall it as that was one of my big complaints from my early experience with plugins.

It does that as well either playing music or not by not setting it up a your screensaver & just selecting MLPanel from the main menu Wink Even if you do set it up as your screensaver you have the option of seventy two (from memory) different views some photo slide shows & some date time etc. selectable from the remote/keyboard while displaying.

You know, if it was possible, I'd have Sub and You All over for a BBQ in thanks for all this. I never would have gotten this far without this software and forum. (I know $$ in the donation can helps too, when I have the extra funds I plan to donate Smile

*Throws up arms in defeat* Okay, I'm sold. Big Grin When I feel adventurous, I'll give it a try.

As long as it's come up, I'll second that (again).

I just use Remote Desktop when I want to do any detailed work in config. You can also use your preferred flavor of VNC (I use TightVNC because that's the one I use, UltraVNC and RealVNC do the same thing); just don't install the display mirror driver.
