Lag with remote control

I've just installed GB-PVR and a variety of plug-ins.
When I control the media MVP with the Hauppauge remote control it works fine at first but then begins to lag. It seems to become unresponsive to the remote's signals but then after about 30 seconds it carries out all the remote commands I have pressed in frustration.
Sometimes the media MVP will reboot as a result of this.
The problem does not appear to be confined to any particular plug-in.
Has anyone got any ideas as to the cause and any suggested fixes.

most of the time after it lags it just reboot itself

My Remote lags when I first lauch the MVP, but soon goes fine. Sometimes it doesn't respond at all then I have to restart the GB-PVR MVP server. Used to cause me real problems until I uninstalled the winTV MVP server.

Thanks tipster, The MVP is only two month old, it has 34 buttons and came with the MVP, The firmware is D3a. The batteries are new and I'm not stuipd Of course I point it at the MVP.
As I said it only lags when first started. I've just upgraded the Software and and it's a whole lot more responsive. Thanks for the help

Mine is firmware D1 and still lags and reboots. I have the old remote.
It does not play music correctly - music library plays excerpts from tracks in a playlist in no order. MyMusic makes a big pop between tracks and eventually crashes.
Is there any way to update the firmware on the MVP to a later more stable version?
