How do I get rid of previously scanned channels in the dropdown box when mapping digital channels to the EPG?

to explain further, I'm rescanning my digital antenna channels tonight because the long delayed analog shutdown has finally happened. About half of my digital stations have changed broadcast frequencies (most returning to their traditional channel assignments just vacated by the analog shutdown).

After doing a new scan, the channel list drop down contains both the old scan results and the new... it's not too hard to figure out which are the new ones since the list is in chronological order, but shouldn't it just display only the new scan results?

Delete (or rename) the ?:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\BDA\SCAN-1.cache file or files.
You will have to scan again though. These cache files are additive so that "part time" or shared channels will be remembered - but this can cause lots of old junk that you are seeing.

I think if you delete the recording source and re-add it again, you will remove all traces of the old channels (some of this info is captured in the DB - source_channel_mapping table, as well as the scan cache files). Then you should be able to do a clean scan.

You know it just occurred to me that when I start a re-scan, the existing channels are all mapped... so the app has little choice to keep the existing channels in the list, otherwise all the existing mappings would be lost. While that happens to be what I wanted last night, that isn't what one would normally want.

It might be nice to have a button that says something like "Clear existing channel mappings and scan results", but as you say there are other ways around it.

Exactly.

I'll keep this mind when I'm next doing updates to the scanning screen.

i was gonna ask if we could get a preview on-off button, but i found a workaround..delete the cache files...
when they are still there, it previews channels that match a new one for me, and some would crash config, but after deleting cache files, no preview unless i click on a channel..Smile
it didn't preview every channel, just matching old ones, and would stay there till another match was found with old channels, and the volume was pretty high!
