Rename Recordings

This is a GBPVR utility application that will take in the full path of a GBPVR recording, and rename it to the Episode's Sub Title name. If an Episode does not have a sub title, the recording name stays the same. The physical file name is renamed, as well as the name in the GBPVR database.

So for example:

Las Vegas_20050201_220000.mpg will become
The Count of Montecito.mpg

It will still reside under the Las Vegas folder.

This file can be downloaded from the Developer's forum.

Slight update to catch any exceptions, so that the program doesn't lock up when running in batch mode.

Update is in the Developers forum on page 3.

This may be asking a bit much or require some people to put their heads together, but here goes. This looks like an excellent utility. My only question is this. I am a big user of the Video Archive plugin; will this correctly update the main GPVR database if I run this on an archived show? (I suppose I could just try it, but I hate losing shows out the database in case it doesn't work properly.)

It should work with the Archived videos that the Video Archive plugin creates, as I think Jeff just goes and updates the location.

What I would do, is test it with one of your Archived Vidoes. If the Rename Utility can't find the show information in the GBPVR database it won't rename it. You can easily run the RenameRecording utility from the command prompt. That is how I did my initial testing.

It doesn't seem to work with my archived recordings that I've found so far. I posted a question for Jeff to see if he does anything interesting with the database. So far this is an excellent tool. Once in the postprocessing.bat does this run before, during, or after comskip runs? So does the comskip file end up with the same name?

scooby_doo just right click on the "postprocessing.bat" and click edit, the lines are run in the order they appear, so if comksip is before rename it will run before, if its after it will run after.

Most current version can be found on the wiki. I've released the source to the GBPVR community.
