Hello,

I've recently configured a new GBPVR system for my brother. His setup uses a Nova-S USB2 for reception of Freesat (UK).

Although the system can correctly tune and display satellite channels when in Live TV with "Live Preview Mode" enabled, it struggles to record them. Recordings usually fail (creates a file of 0 bytes) or record a random number of minutes and then fail.

Bizarrely, when I visited today to examine the system more closely, I discovered that from Live TV I can press record and the recording proceeds okay (data is written to the record file). If, however, I exit Live TV, no more data is written to the file even though PVRX2 and the recording service indicate the recording is still happening (file size constant). When I subsequently return to watching the channel being recorded, the file starts to increase in size again. On playback, the file has the chunks of the programme I saw in Live TV.

If I disable "Live Preview" mode, I can't even watch the channels in Live TV.

I'm totally baffled. I tried changing multiplexers but that didn't really seem to affect matters.

Can anyone advise?

Thanks

You'll have to post your logs for the boss or someone to help I'd guess.

I'll watch this thread as I get similar problems on my test machine using an unsupported dvb-s tuner (pinnacle 4000i). Live TV fine in live preview, but recordings 0 bytes.

Hi,

Sorry, kinda figured you'd need the logs but forgot to lift them. D'oh. Got them now though.

The last show I attempted to record on Sunday was "Countryfile". This would have been between roughly 1900 and 1930 hours. This was on BBC 1.

Had a nosey at the logs myself but my untrained eye can't stop anything. Look forward to any suggestions.

Thanks

Its possible the Cyberlink mux doesnt like some signal disruptions or drop outs.

Maybe try a few days with the TS Mux to see if it has the same problem.
