anybody got win7 and want to test a fix for HIP and MCE remotes?

just save this as a batch file and run it..
Code:
reg add "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\HidIr\Remotes\745a17a0-74d3-11d0-b6fe-00a0c90f57da" /v "CodeSetNum0" /t REG_DWORD /d "2" /f
reg add "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\HidIr\Remotes\745a17a0-74d3-11d0-b6fe-00a0c90f57da" /v "CodeSetNum1" /t REG_DWORD /d "2" /f
reg add "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\HidIr\Remotes\745a17a0-74d3-11d0-b6fe-00a0c90f57da" /v "CodeSetNum2" /t REG_DWORD /d "2" /f
reg add "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\HidIr\Remotes\745a17a0-74d3-11d0-b6fe-00a0c90f57da" /v "CodeSetNum3" /t REG_DWORD /d "2" /f

and hip no longer has double key presses so hip can control it..
then setup your hip by placing the files pvrx2.hpg and mceremote-new.hkm from http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=42793 in hip dir and importing them as remote and program info and hip should be setup with all keys mapped..Big Grin
let me know if i missed any pvrx2 keys or remote buttons..

no need for alt driver, use native win7 driver...

good deal...just don't forget to get both files if you're using mce remote..
[the .hpg and .hkm]
and strangely, import the .hpg after the .hkm....
let me know if any questions...

i'm trying to get ahold of the btmi guy but no responses for couple days..
i want to get the new pvrx2.hpg included with hip as the old gbpvr.exe one is obsolete...
not to mention the mce remote profile missing several keys and add the 45btn mvp remote..

i found out you can specify multiple keywords in the .hpg to cover different remote labels..
like recall or previous on some remotes...either go or home on others..
so i tried to group them with their synonyms...Smile

64 or 32 bit win7?
more importantly, did the mce remote arrow keys work after the registry entries?
[they shouldn't]

thanx...hope we don't have to find an alternative to hip for win7..
[i have seen other control programs that are working in win7 already]
but i want my HIP Big Grin

i think it may be getting bitten by the longer code strings in win7..Sad

I spent a few hours trying to get HIP to work in win7 (32-bit). I ran the batch file to disable the remote but that didn't work. Win7 still has control of the remote. I also un-installed MCE.

I then tried the MCE-IR driver. That disabled remote but HIP still could not see any key presses. I used net2hipsend for IR blasting but that also didn't work. HIP appeared to received the command but the blaster didn't flash.

I eventually gave up, and returned to my XP setup where the batch file/HIP/net2hipsend combo works.
