Receiving Astra Satellite Channels

Can someone tell me why I am unable to capture any TV channels from my satellite dish? I am trying to scan Astra 2D channels.
If I connect the same LNB to my sky set top box or use VideoMate S350 2.5 software on my PC, I can receive all the channels.
I am using the VideoMate S350 DVB-S PCI Tuner card.
If I eventually manage to scan the satellite channels will the EPG work OK.
I already use GB-PVR for UK digital free view via an aerial and it is superb which is why I want to extend its use to satellite.

As you know with GB-PVR, you will need to configure the EPG for the "capture card", before you can do the channel scan.

What happens when you try the channel scan with the satellite card ?

I use an S350 and I think it is one that is not supported for scanning, but works fine otherwise.
Does yours go through the motions of scanning but end up with nothing to map? If so then you could use someone else's scan cache file and copy it into the bda directory and rename it to the blank one that your scan created. Then map teh channels as normal.

POB on here often dumps a cache file. Quick looksee...... ah here is a recent one.
