1600 qam in Windows 7 X64?

Has anyone got this combination to work? I loaded W7 X64 and the only drivers I could get to load were the 4.8a cd. I wasn't able to get qam to work in GB-PVR or media center. I was able to scan in Wintv and it found some channels with nothing there. The only drivers I've ever been able to get Qam to work with are the 3.4a cd. I've reinstalled my image of xp and everything is working again but I'd like to make the switch to a 64 bit OS to be able to use more ram.

I have a few systems running W7 RTM and am not at home so I can't give you specifics just yet but I'm almost positive the system I have with the HVR1600 is X64 and it's just using the default drivers installed by W7.
Did that not work for you?

When I left it use the default drivers I wasn't able to scan and media center said there was no tuner.

OK, I can verify I have the 1600 running in x64 W7 RTM. I'm using the drivers dated 3/19/09, 1.62.27078.0. I also realized that I use the WizBDA Channel tool to migrate the mapped channels from my HDHR. I also cannot get QAM in GBPVR with my HVR1600 any other way.

I copied my Xp GBPVR folder over my W7 folder when I tried it. I guess I'll try reloading and set my tuners up and use wizbda and see if it works. The big problem I see is that comcast keeps moving the qam channnels every few weeks and I have to rescan. I guess if your method works I could set my XP image up on a spare drive and rescan with it when necessary and use wizbda again.

Got my tuners working after a reload but still can't find anything with GBPVR. I can use my tuners by using wizbda but that's most likely a temporary fix with the constant reassigning of qam channels on Comcast. Media center and Wintv 7 can both scan and find qam channels with no problem now.

edit: spoke to soon. Lost all qam again in GBPVR but still working in Wintv 7. This is really frustrating I don't understand whats going on.

The first is the Driver I use. dated DriverVer=01/28/2008,1.62.26028 18drv_26028.rar
The secound is a patch in the v1.3.11 survival guide with post 4,7,8 combined.Stop recording service and tray icon then goto C:\Program Files (x86)\Devnz\GBPVR where c is you install if not change drive letter copy all file in patch run Re-Register Filters.bat.

You'll also need to add this line to your config.xml:

Goto config setup as normal.

Thanks for the driver file, no luck so far getting it working right. I've tried a lot of different drivers and codecs but I can't get it to find any qam channels when it scans. I can get the qam working by using wizbda channel tool but I get 0 byte recordings and for live tv I need to change channel down 1 channel to get live tv to work. I can tune any channel I want after I change channel down 1 but the first live channel or if I go up first I get no signal message. I've restored my image of xp for now and will try again later I'm pretty frustrated after all the reloads of W7 to try getting it working.

I've managed to get the drivers from cd3.4d1 installed and was able to scan and map all my channels. I still can't tune a qam channel until I tune up or down 1 channel after selecting a qam channel from the guide. analog works but does stutter badly form time to time. I'm attaching my logs to see if anyone can see anything obvious.

Paul and I had the same issue. It seems that something changed with DirectShow in Windows 7 since it added native support for QAM to MCE. Sub is looking into it.
