Hi All,

As the title states, I just installed a new hard drive and have moved my recordings and livetv folders to this new hard drive. The recordings are physically there....however, in GBPVR, under the recordings screen, it is all empty. In the config, I have changed the directories respectively. So this "mapping" must be located somewhere else. I looked into the database, but could not find anywhere where a mapping is located. I am a developer but just need a step in the right direction. Does anyone know where I can find to update this mapping within GBPVR?

Thanks.

The application will automatically delete any recordings that refer to a file that is no longer on disk, working on the assumption you've deleted the files. It does this to clean up the database.

If you look in the gbpvr directory, there is usually a recordings-dump.xml file which was exported at the last system epg update. You can try editing this file to correct the paths to reflect their new location, then use the 'import recordings' button in the config app to reimport the recordings.

Or if an extra day has passed, there is a .bak file one day older.

Failing that there is vidimport to pass you a paddle when you are up the creek.

I just went through a similar process (i.e. adding a disk and moving the GBPVR recordings. What I found is that I could go into recording-dump.xml and edit the drive for each recording (from E: to F: in my case) and then import the recording-dump.xml file via config. This took care of everything and the program descriptions were not lost.

Here is a link to how I solved this problem. You can change it to make as many days of backups as you want.

Although it looks like the boss has done something about it in the new version.

Quote:- now keeps a few more backups of recording-dump.xml

Have you seen what's different in 1.4.7? How are the XML backup files named? Is there more than one, or are they stored as a single file? I'm doing something similar to what LewE is doing - perhaps I need to change my bat file.

I've been busy and haven't been able to try out PVRX2 version 1.4.7 yet. My backup scheme is based on the 1.3.11 version of PVRX2.

I haven't seen that bit yet as I don't have automatic EPG setup at the moment so the dump files are not getting created.

(I rely on my daily incremental acronis backups).
