When I record from the TV-Guide the mpg file for the recording is stored in the Recordings directory. When I record from LiveTV the mpg file for the recording is stored in the LiveTV Buffer directory. I though it would be moved the Recordings directory once the recording was complete. I do not have use the Live Preview mode. I want to use a SSD for the LiveTV Buffer to see it that speeds up the channel changing, but I will not have room on the SSD for all of the recorded LiveTV shows. How do I get the LiveTV recordings to automatically move to the Recordings directory?

Sorry, thats just the way it works. When you hit record in timeshift mode, it just tells the app not to delete the buffer file, and instead just leave it in place.

OK. I looks like I can use a VB-Script or something like the SuperSimpleArchiver and a Post Processing Bat to move the file to the Recordings directory if it is in the LiveTV Buffer directory. Then I will try a SSD or Ram-Disk and see if that speeds up my channel changing, which takes about six seconds when not using Live Preview mode. I am also hopeful that it will solve this problem.

i tried that, it wasn't any faster...
it's not because the disk is slow...it's because there's a lot of stuff to do when changing timeshift files...mostly about the capture cards speed...
[how fast it releases capture, tunes new channel, and restarts it on another file...]
think twice the time it takes to start up timeshift session..

There is also the issue of needing to buffer a couple of seconds before playback can begin.
