Oh dear, I'm not looking forward to this one!

No matter where you are, if you use Freeview from a box, have a Freeview TV or use a Freeview+ recorder you MUST retune on this day.

If you have ANY type of Freeview receiver, you will have to retune it on 30 September 2009.

To allow the introduction of Freeview HD, and to ensure that FIVE can be watched from the public service digital TV transmitters, ALL Freeview equipment must be retuned on WEDNESDAY 30 SEPTEMBER 2009 AT LUNCHTIME.

A simple "Add channels" scan will NOT be sufficient. This will result in channels being allocated the wrong numbers.

Maybe we can come up with a strategy in advance...

Is it going to be a delete capture source(s) and add them back in job?
Are there going to be any frequency changes meaning an all regions scan?

It looks to me as if it will only affect Channel 5 and ITV2/3, so probably not a big issue (I hope) Big Grin

I'm doing a before and after scan with the Hauppauge tool to see what has shifted.
I'm still a little wary about doing a full scan with 1.4.7 as my test server started doing oddies afterwards whereas the main server is fine running on the old cache.

When sub gets back I think we're all going to have to get serious about getting him the debugging info he needs to diagnose this scanning issue with 1.4.7. As far as I can see everyone who scans with 1.4.7 has a few problems (including me).

Best of luck to you all on Sept. 30th. If I had 1.4.7 when the US digital changeover happened, I'd have been tearing my hair out.

Nope johnsonx42, scanning on my HVR 1600 in 1.4.7 is better than it ever has been on QAM and ATSC.

All the best to UK Freeviewers tomorrow.

There's a new rescan button in 1.4.7, will this be enough to handle the changes?

How do you actually change the mapping of an existing channel????

I can't seem to get any changes made. "five" has moved from 850000 to 690000 MHZ here, but the database seems to keep the old entry.
A full rescan finds the new frequency, but I can't seem to find a way to use this to update the existing settings.
I have tried "delete mappings" which doesn't seem to do anything.
The status says "mapped".
In the previous version there was a down arrow to open the mapping and you could pick from that - now I can't find it anywhere.

Hi,

Isnt the 'drop down' for remapping just next to the 'Status' that says mapped?

If not, then I am not sure

How did you find this info? Is there a list online somewhere?
