I'm having a couple of issues:

1. When watching live tv I get audio. But when I start recording the audio seems to turn off. I play the recording and doesn't have any audio either.
My pc is hooked up to my monitor through HDMI which is also how I get my audio.

2. What are the system requirements to run GBPVR?
Whenever I bring up the mini guide Live TV starts to stutter. I would think I have more than enough to run
GBPVR without any issues? I don't have any processes running in the background, not even an anti-virus (i do manual scans once in a while).
What can I do to improve performance. I haven't insatlled any plugins. However I am using the Community-WS skin. Might that have something to do with it?

Maybe a little more information would help everyone help you. Are you using TS Mux? What audio decoders and renderers are you using? Are you using AC3 Filter? If so, I had a problem with no sound in TS recordings, came to find out from this thread http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=40175&page=3 what I needed to do.

I have both of them set to System Default. Which ones should I be using? I don't know what TS Mux is? I just left everything at default settings. The only thing I configured was the skin and EPG.

It looks like you have plenty of horsepower in that machine, so I dont think you need to worry about that.

System default decoders rarely work unless someone that knew what they were doing loaded the exact ones that you would need to do specific decoding with GBPVR with merits set in the order they needed to be, highly unlikely.

First of all. What are you trying to record? Analog (cable tv), QAM (digital over cable TV), ATSC (digital with antenna)?

I'm trying to record ATSC (with digital antenna).
As far as the system requirements question the thing is as soon as I hit record (other then sound going out) the video gets very jerky.

It really depends on what signal you are receiveing. Since I do not use ATSC, I am not aware of what audio gets transmitted, but try this, I think you need an AC3 decoder. If you dont already have it as a selection in config on the playback tab, I recommend downloading and installing AC3 filter or ffdshow (google it) and set your AC3 decoder to AC3 filter of ffdshow in the playback tab.

Also in the Misc2 Tab, for the BDA Multiplexer, set it to TS Mux and enable multi recording support check box below it.

I installed the AC3 Filter then set it as my AC3 decoder and now I have sound. Thank you very much! The thing that threw me off is even though it wasn't installed before it was still available under the AC3 decoder section.

Any idea about the choppy playback? I selected TS Mux and enabled multi recording support but as soon as I hit record everything sloooows down.

It may have been a broken codec or something. I am happy you are past that. Now to fix your video, check the post above.

Try install this http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=3...ostcount=9 by downloading, extracting anywhere you can find it, and running install.bat. After that, in your video decoder in the playback tab in config, select MVP decoder filter. Give that a whirl.

Ok. Seems that the problem is solved.

I installed the MPC filters. Then selected "MPC - MPEG-2 Video Decoder" in the Video Decoder section. Now when recording one channel and watching another I got no stutter (although I still got stutter when bringing up the mini guide). But when recording 2 channels at once I still got stutter.

I then decided to try other Video Decoders. I tried a couple from Snapstream, Sagetv, among others. Lastly I decided to try one called "Arcsoft Video Decoder". (Any ideas where I got this oner from?) With this one I could record 2 shows at once with no stutter at all! I still get a barely noticeable stutter when bring up the mini guide.

So I decided to try different Video Renderers. I found that by using "EVR (Enhanced Video Renderer) I get no stutter at all when bringing up the mini guide.

I just want to thank you for taking the time to help me out. With your help and the very detailed wiki I have answers to most of my questions.

Yeah, thats what it takes, tinkering with different codecs. Funny thing was I was trying to steer you towards MVP video decoder, not MPC video decoder. Oh well, I am glad you got it sorted. Enjoy sub's, as well as all the developers hard work! I know I do. Good work sub and everyone!!Big Grin
