I see all the work jaggy is doing on this, but did not want to mess that thread up. I am using the index.htm file sucessfully for startup, but would like to tweek it a little. Here is my situation.

I need to exit gbpvr from the pch to get my PC to sleep. With the current index file, I exit gbpvr, then hit cancel so it does not auto load in 3 seconds. (sometimes it takes so long to settle back at the 3 second screen, the timer ends and it relaunches GBPVR) Then I hit the "power" button on the PCH remote to sleep the PCH. To restart I wake up the PCH and select manually start GBPVR.

To increase the WAF, I would like to eliminate the auto start and just go to a single manual "Start GBPVR" button. This way I can exit out of GBPVR and hit the power button without having to try to catch the cancel. It will also just give my wife one button to deal with to launch GBPVR.

Looking at the index file, I can see how to extend the time of the 3 second timer, but have no clue on how to eliminate that part of the file.

What happens if you just take a copy of your GB-PVR.html & rename it index.htm? That should get rid of all the auto load features for you.

If that works you will then just have to delete the extra unwanted lines out of it so it only contains the GBPVR line (but personally I would add the "exit to NMT menu" line as well from my script).

You are loading from an internal HDD aren't you? I am now trying to figure out when index_sd.htm & when index.htm are used

Personally I would skin the main NMT Start menu and add an icon for GBPVR for this scenario where you don't do a full poweroff.

Interested skinners might want to look at some of the tricks in the huge index.html thread on the NMT forum. The difference with index_sd is that is for SD resolution vs HD resolution.

!@##$%^&* you Martin (in a nice way Smile ), as if I haven't got enough to do at the moment, I have to get a new version of B-R-SHV out with the new pin code skin in it, I have a new B-R-HV skin that just needs the excess old files removed from it & a go through test so I can package it up for release & the NMT wiki that I am trying to get sorted out. NOW you prick my interest with skinning the NMT for GB-PVR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Big Grin

EDIT: Oops I forgot the new version of MLPanel ACTCMS & I are working on as well.

Re: index_sd.htm v index.htm it would have been nice to know this for yesterday so I could edit my post before HD users tried to use index_sd.htm, I guess HD users just need to rename it for it to work.

I wasn't suggesting this to anyone in particular, I've also thought it would be good to a nicer looking start page.

I did mention the sd stuff here before when I was confused about the name

http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=3...stcount=11

BTW the confusion on the index_sd name came from bad info in Syabas's document

http://www.networkedmediatank.com/downlo..._2007.html

Still if you are tweaking the look (not skinning) there is more info on their markup here.

Sounds like there might be good solutions, but likely over my headSad
My pch does not have a HDD and I am loading from the server.

I will go over to the NMT forum and learn some more.

I edited the index.html file and took out some stuff (really not sure how it works but I guessed:eekSmile

Anyway, it works just like I want it to. HOWEVER, since I don't know squat about this, I can't edit it to make it look good. On the PCH it shows my "start gbpvr" button as highlighted and as such, it is a barely visible yellow color. I would like to make the button big and easy to see. Attached is my file. I tried removing more stuff, but then it killed the function all together.

I am really willing to learn this, but am not sure where to start.

I hacked on it some more and with some background color changes, I got it to where my wife understands it. This now makes the PCH very much like the way we used the MVP.

When you cold boot the PCH, it autoloads and waits at a screen that says "press ok to load gbpvr" Then when you are done watching, press the PCH remote power from the GBPVR main screen and it exits back to the "press OK.." button. This lets the server sleep and it is very easy, one button press for my wife to get it started. It even works better with the MCE remote as I have set it up for the TV power on button to work as well. One remote and a couple of button pushes to get it all to work!

Thanks Jaggy and Martin! Way cool.Cool
Edit: I also forgot to thank goofygrin who wrote the index.html file that I edited.

My working file. Some dead code, but it works.
