Hi Sub.

Last night went to the recordings screen and hit the pending button and got a lock up. Tried on a popcorn hour and on the server. Finally figured out what it was, I have been archiving some programs from the server to a home server (another machine), and the home server was off.

The log was posting messages about Lookforrenamerecordings (I have this on and deletemissing turned off).

I'm guessing that there was a network timeout happening while trying to find the recordings on the other server. Do you test for File.Exists before trying to do anything else on that file? And does a File.Exists wait for the no network exception or return false pretty quickly when the file can't be found?

I dont explicitly test network drives for any functionality, but I'm also guessing its timing out on File.Exists() check. There might be a setting to disable the check for rename, but I cant remember the exact details.

I'll have to run a test on some code to see what file.exists does. If it time out, or just returns a false.

This is all coming back to the archiving to another machine stuff, so hopefully we can come up with some options around this area (been playing with simple archiver), but you'll see in the wishlist forum that I'm hoping we can get archive added to the recording screen.
