Hi.

I'm new here and just went from Mediaportal to GB-PVR despite my skepticism against closed source software (irony that I'm using Windows on this machine). Hopefully my mdapi/softcam-issues will be resolved since Mediaportal's development team nor forum even touches the subject.

However. The problem I'm having is that I can't figure out how to properly sort the channels now that I've scanned them. It lists both the radio channels and the tv channels in the same list and we're talking several hundred channels. I'm having ComHem (DVB-C) and sorting these channels by hand would be a nightmare. Could someone point me in the right direction? I could even live without the radio channels (sorting away all channels without videostreams) as long as I can have the rest of the channels sorted in some handy way.

Might add that I'm a bit bothered that I can't get subtitles working on channels that uses Teletext nor DVB Subtitles (any ideas?). Everytime I choose to watch TV my start menu shows up for a short while until the channel is turned on (related to starting the mdapifilter maybe?).

Been googling and searching so that my fingers almost bleeds. Greatful for help. Thanks for what seems to be a nice piece of software too.

I use XMLTV as my EPG source and include only the channels I want in the XMLTV. GBPVR ignores all of the channels that are not in the EPG.

I use the Channels tab in Config to get the channels in order. I type the channel numbers that I want. So my favourites are set to 1 and 2 and 3 and ...

I can seee that this might be a bit of a chore if you want lots and lots of channels.

I'm not sure if you are talking about the EPG list or the scanned list for mapping the channels?
For the latter, there is no proper way to sort the channels, although the scanned channels do appear in a text file under program files\devnz\gbpvr\bda as a numbered cache file.
Some people have sorted this list (I used excel as it was available) Radio channels can be isolated by their vpid (video id) of 0.

The application always list the channels in order of the channel number seen in the main Channels tab of the config app.

If you dont want to see these channels, either delete them, or disable them.

Reproduce the problem, then post the logs and I'll take a look.

I havnt seen this behaviour myself with multidec.

My windows start bar is left in the default configuration which has it in the fixed location on the screen, not auto showing when you move the mouse to the bottom of the screen - maybe you have it set to auto show, and the multidec icon being created it triggering it to appear briefly?

Damn you guys are fast to reply.

I'll put the channelissues on ice for now. I'll find some way to sort them alphabetically or smthg and delete the radio channels (strictly audio) or sort them in last if I want to keep them.

Sometimes when I go back from TV the video won't start, but audio and osd works. The startmenu seems to show only when the mdapifilter is starting which actually ain't such a big problem and I can either live with it or force the icon to stop showing. DVB/Teletext subtitles still doesn't show. Tested it just a few minutes before I collected the logs attached. All my EPG data disappeared but I guess it'll update properly tonight and will wait for that before I consider it a problem.

Thanks.

What type of subtitles are you trying to view, DVB Subtitles or Teletext subtitles? They work quite differently, so its important to know which. Each needs to be investigated a slightly different way.

To invesigate, you'll also want to provide a set of logs with minimal noise. ie, just start the application, start live tv, then try enabling subtitles, then zip up the logs. The previous logs had extra stuff filling up the logs (like viewing .mkv file, a couple attempts at live tv etc).

As I mentioned in another thread here I'm also having trouble viewing teletext subtitles, maybe the same issue. DVB-subtitles works fine (pressing yellow button twice brings them up), but teletext subtitles does not show. What do you need to start looking at it Sub?

Seems me and Reddwarf might be suffering from the same problem then. I tested with Mediaportal and it seems the channel I'm currently testing with (Disc. Science) only has Teletext. Enabling only DVB-subs didn't work, but when enabling Teletext it works in MP. However I still can't get it to work in GBPVR.
Excuse the messy logs earlier. Tried to replicate the flashing startmenu (which only seems to happen the first time I start watching a channel, and not again until next time I start GBPVR.

I now stopped the service, cleared the logs, started the service, started PVRX2, chose "Watch TV" (since the last channel I was on was Disc. Science), tried ctrl+y 3 times without success, closed GBPVR and collected the logs. Theses should be quite clean.

If you press Ctrl-R in live tv, does it successfully bring up Teletext, and can you then change to the teletext page number for subtitles on that channel?

It brings up Teletext yes, like if I press the Teletext button on my remote Big Grin, but the page is stuck on page 0ff and I have nothing else on the screen (it's black), the page counter does not move. This is on "Showtime", which is the most interesting movie channel. I'v ripped subtitles from a recording from that channel today, so I know that the subtitles are there, in teletext.

On the norwegian channels the teletext works fine, I'm able to browse pages and read the news while drinking my morning coffee Wink
