I am running windows7 32 bit, hdhomerun dual tuner, lastest firmware. Have tested the hdhomerun on same pc with both quicktv and sage tv, no real issues.

When I go to set up gbpvr and do digital source configuration -> Only show devices in this machine, it says "no devices detected". Should it have been detected?

so then I go to select hdhomerun without checking that box, and select hdhomerun tuner #1. It sets the type to DVB and the country selection of course does not include the USA.

Does gbpvr only work with hdhomerun if I am in europe???? That would suck.

I found an old thread from version 1.2x that talked about updating bda.ini file. It would be nice if any of the current documentation mentioned that.

Apparently thats no longer required. I'm fairly sure the current HDHomeRun software automatically does the bda.ini changes for you if you set the application type to 'GB-PVR'.

It didnt work for me until I manually edited the bda.ini file. Now I am running into the open issue with channel scan freezing up on windows 7 Sad . I would love to use gbpvr <-> hdhomerun , if it would work.

Hi,

Did you ever get your HdHomerun to work in GBPVR ?

I am facing similar problems as you Sad

Yesterday I made a completely new Win 7 (32bit) installation with GBPVR and HdHomerun. However, while I am able to run HdHomerun setup and watch my channels in Quickview, then I cannot find any channels while scanning in GBPVR.

I have checked the BDA.ini file, it is correctly setup by the HdHomerun setup program - I have even tried to edit the name making sure that I select the correct tuners in the capture card setup. GBPVR setup is able to find the tuner without problems - it also makes the complete scan (57 frequencies on the DVB-T net). But after the scan it has found nothing Sad

I should mention that this is on a prototype system (Dual core Atom MB). I have another "production" system already running using Vista and a FireDTV DVB-T tuner card. Both systems are connected to the same antennea. But where the production system is working fine and has been working for the past year, the new system won't let me find any channels.

Any ideas are mostly welcome... I can attach logs later this evening.

/JBi

PS: I also tried to select the HdHomerun tuners in my working production system, but the results are the same: I can find and select the tuners in GBPVR, but the scanning doesn't find any channels.

Do a scan, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

The most common reason for a HDHomeRun device to not find any channels is because of a firewall blocking data from getting to GB-PVR.

Hi Sub,

I should have tried killing the firewall Sad

You are absolutely right, it was the firewall that kept the scanning from working! I started allowing PVRX2 and the recording service to get access, bu tthat was not enough. Then I disabled the firewall on the local network and then I got all my channels Smile

Thanks for the help!
