Has anyone tried to make Kworld UB435-Q receive QAM channels? I can watch QAM channels on TiVme and on TotalMedia (the softwares from the manufacturer website and the CD), but these two pick up different channels. I thought I might be able to pick up more channels with gbpvr.
The tuner is not supported. So I tried to add a section to BDA.ini as in the wiki page, but it doesn't pick up any channel.
Anyone has any idea what's wrong?

Run filtercheck.exe from the GBPVR folder and post the filtercheck.log file. Someone will be along soon after to check that you have the BDA.INI entry spot-on.

As much as i hate digging up old threads, i have this exact usb stick and would like to use it as a QAM tuner in gbpvr (It does tune QAM in Windows 7 MC)

Attached is my filtercheck.log.

Any ideas?

Is this a single or dual tuner device? It strangely has two tuner filters, but only one capture filter. Usually there would be the same number of tuner and capture filters.

I don't believe it has true twin tuners. It does ATSC and Clear QAM but from what i understand QAM is just a modulation of ATSC.

Try adding these to your bda.ini file:

[KWorld UB345Q ATSC]
TUNING_TYPE=ATSC
FILTER_TUNER=BDA 2870 TVTuner
FILTER_CAPTURE=USB 2870 Device
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

[KWorld UB345Q QAM]
TUNING_TYPE=ATSC
TUNING_SPECIAL=2
FILTER_TUNER=BDA 2870 TVTuner
FILTER_CAPTURE=USB 2870 Device
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

No go. I did full scans on using Default Cable Frequencies and HCR Cable Frequencies and it finds no channels. Any other ideas to try? I

Post the config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log and I'll see if anything obvious stands out.

The QAM support in GB-PVR is really aimed at Hauppauge devices. Many other devices have been lucky enough to also work for QAM because they behave the same was Hauppauge devices. I'm not sure whether your specific device works or not.

I'll get those rounded up. Only thing i'm seeing out of the ordinary are these lines from the native log. The lines in bold concern me
