if you download the installer from the web it creates this other user for somereasom but there is a patch for it.. but if you happen to got the FREE service pack 2 cd from microsoft they include the netframework already on the cd with the patch and it does not install with the the new user.. but about all I can offer for support

I dont have an account with that name on my machine. It may be created when you install IIS (incase you have).

The ASP.NET account is created when you install the .NET framework after you have installed IIS,
If you install the other way around, ASP.NET will not work with IIS unless you run aspnet_regiis -i from the command line

The ASP.NET account is a low privilege account that ASP.NET applications run under. If you delete the account, then your ASP.NET apps proably will not work.
It is possible, but very undesirable, to run ASP.NET under a high privilege account.

This account did present me with a conundrum, as I wanted to use the auto-login feature of WindowsXP (so my box would boot, login, and startup GBPVR without KB or mouse) but this doesn't work if you have more than one account AFAIK, i.e you plus ASP.NET
So I don't use ASP.NET on my GBPVR box. If I need web access I'll set up another IIS box.

You could also go to the Windows XP Powertoys page on microsoft.com, download TweakUI and use that to autologon to your system.
