This is driving me mad, spent a few hours reading the wiki, and the keyboard shortcuts, and I can't seem to locate just how do I switch between analog & digital tuner?

The way I do it now, I use the config utility, then only have either the analog or the digital capture source. If I have them both, and if the digital one is listed first, it still goes to the analog tuner.

If I remove the analog, then I can get the digital one OK.

I just can't have them both listed as sources, and switch between them.

This is on a HD ATI 650 PRO card.
The exact model is http://ati.amd.com/products/tvwonder650/pci/index.html

What am I missing?

If you double click the tray icon, it will list your tuners in order of "importance". LiveTV will use the first available tuner starting at the bottom of the list and work its way up the list. Recording starts at the top of the list and works its way down.

If you want to have digital and analog channels, you should map them to different EPG channels. Most cable providers have separate channel numbers for the analog and digital channels so they are duplicated in the guide. If your provider does not duplicate the channels, you will have to decide if analog or digital tuning is more important. If that's the case and you want the digital as the most important for both recording and live tv, set up the digital capture source twice with the analog source in between. GBPVR is smart enough to realise that there is really only one digital device.

Hmm. Well, I did as you said, and both of the digital sources are always sleeping, and it keeps going back to the analog source.

I tried digital, digital2, analog -> analog is always active, the other two are sleeping.

remove analog, and digital & digital2 work fine.

Definitely not intended behaviour. It sounds as if your digital channels are mapped to different EPG channels and you are starting on the analog each time. If you flip through all your channels, does it ever switch to the digital? You can also zip and post your logs folder and someone can take a look to see if anything stands out.

Most issues get fixed quicker than some open source apps I've seen. Wink sub is taking requests for the next version though: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=44807

ok, will attach logs

And I went through all the channels I could, and where there 'should' be digital ones, it was just static/black screen.

For now, I think I will just remove the analog, and play with the digital channels.

I guess I could also install gbpvr twice, and do it that way...

Perhaps, but then again, if you know how to code, and you are running into issues, it is nicer if you can fix it yourself Smile

OK, I found the issue.

For other people that have this problem, for the Analog stations, you should *not* have the range of channels 'overlap' (enabled) with the digital ones.
So if Analog is 1-99, and digital is 100-200 (or whatever), the channel enable checkmarks should NOT be selected on the analog side (in this case, 100-200).

There should be a notice/warning dialog pop-up when this happens, or a way to pick which tuner you are trying to use.

(if only I had the source code.... hehe Smile)

Never heard of media portal. I will take a look at it.

As for always records, I beg to differ, since it 'froze' up while recording, as I type this message.

This is on a win7 test machine, don't know if gbpvr has issues with win7 or not (yet--still reading).

Its working exactly the way its supposed to. When it you start live tv on a channel, it works its way up from the bottom of the capture source list, looking for an available tuner that has that channel. When you later change channels, it tries to stick to that existing tuner to ensure the quickest channel change time. It'll only look for another capture sources if the existing one doesnt have the required channel.

I did mention this in my first response. Wink
