hi there - fresh install ... but when I scan I get "Unhandled Exception has Occurred."

This happened three times in a row, so I am stuck.....

(XP SP3, 2GB RAM, Dual Pentium, Pinnacle 800i - has been a stable install for a number of weeks but lost EPG listings and tried to start over)

Any help would be appreciated!!! thanks Big Grin

There is some log lines missing between these two points, which is probably an indication that something failed, but isnt currently logged. Unfortunately its a bit hard to tell what it doesnt like. I'm not sure what to suggest short term, but I can add some additional logging in this area for 1.5.

I hate that big red "X"! That happened for me when I did not have the directories set up correctly... good luck!

One thing I notice is that your BDAPsiScanStartupSeconds is set to "1". It should be set to at least 3. Have there beein any other manual changes made to the default config.xml?

hey whurlston.... I originally did an uninstall.
I then deleted the devnz subdirectory in Program Files.

Then I ran Little Registry Cleaner.

Then I did a reinstall.
I did not edit the config.xml or anything ....

Anyway, I made the change you suggested, went totally crazy and upped it to 5 seconds.

And it scanned for a while (nice and slowly) finding no channels... then I get
GB-PVR Configuration has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience...
Error signature:
Appname - config.exe, app ver 1.0.3299
Modname msvcr80.dll mod ver 8.0.5072

etc.

forgot to mention: the Pinnacle TV app works fine, scans channels and plays TV.

Zip and post the logs after reproducing this.

Just two cents here -

It seems like I had that problem and solved it just by changing the default video decoder. Are you using the same mux and decoder you were using before?

FWIW, I tried a clean install when I upgraded to Win 7 on a laptop and eventually went back to my backed up GBPVR directory that had been running on XP just fine. I had weird problems like not being able to add a directory.

I always amazed at how easy it is to move a working installation to a new machine or install.

Ah, yeah - I forgot about that. This problem happens if it ends up using the Microsoft DTV-DVD video decoder.
