Hi folks,

I just installed my new M34A NMT this afternoon and am having a few issues.

The biggest one is that the menus are far too big. By this I mean that if you chopped the menu into 4 quarters, I can see only the top left quarter spread out across my entire screen. I'm set up for 1080I mode.

Another minor issue is that I can't seem to get "gbpvr" to work so am having to use "gbpvr via network browder" which does seem to do what I want in a manner of speaking.

Any help etc ...

Thanks

Mark

I am fairly sure this happens when it doesn't have the right information for you mac address in config & that is probably the same for not being able to use "GB-PVR" as well. Grab the Syntax Checker from the "NMT Syntax Checker" sticky & post the results for Martin to check out when he logs in.

I get this when I run the tool (had to DL 7-zip to manage the tool BTW). It seems that the MAC address field is indeed not there. Is there a way I can populate it?

Did you input the IP address of your NMT when running the syntax checker?

Nope. How was I to know to do that? There was no instructions for the tool. This makes a bit more sense ....

I cant force you to read it but the first paragraph, second sentence of the thread says To use it in the top left edit box enter the IP of your NMT or the hostname if you have a hard disk in the PCH

From your post I don't see the information showing you having installed the mvpmc share yes, did you follow step III of the dummies guide to add it?

Finally for your screen problem, I am going to need your GBPVR logs, I always assume that's a given for support.

Thread? What thread? I googled for NMTchecker and was presented with link to a .7z file that contained only an executable. I guess I should have looked through the forum? Sorry about that. Perhaps next time you are messing with it's sources you could change the PCH-A110 label for something a little more instructive?

OK, reading the Dummies Guide again I see that my device is indeed behaving as it should in that I am using "GB-PVR via Network Browser" and it works. Not very elegantly but it does work.

I am also a little confused about step 3 of the Guide. Having read and re-read it a few times I think this is why the "GB-PVR" option isn't working. I'll try that in the morning and let you know how I get on. SWMBO is now consuming the TV in the bedroom with the M34A.

BTW, can I have more than one of these things on my network? My children both have the Hauppage units but each have a 15 inch LCD. I was thinking it would be good to upgrade them.

Thanks for your efforts!

It is the sticky Jaggy referred you to. The default value is in fact the default host name for an A110 so I'm not planning on changing it.

If the menu doesn't look good via the network browser something is wrong.

For Step III just follow Setup -> Network Share and get to the mvpmc share (probably WORKGROUP-> mvpmc) and hit "add" accepting all defaults

Multiple NMT's are a not problem.

So I got this far (see below) and now it doesn't work; a step backwards I think.
I can manually navigate to the gbpvr.html page but nothing works there now.

That's a step forward, you have a share but you actually edited the Share Name to mvpmc (you were supposed to accept all defaults) Edit the file GB-PVR.html in the mvpmc share with a linux compatible editor and remove PVR-2/ to make it

<a href="http://localhost.drives:8883/NETWORK_SHARE/mvpmc/gbpvr.cgi">GB-PVR</a>

If you still have a menu that is WAYYYYY too big, send your MVP logs too.
