Nothing to do with PVR's never mind gbpvr.

Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions of audio jukebox software (preferably freeware). I'd like to get an old, but small, touchscreen tablet PC running as a jukebox in the shack. (Collection is ripped mp3's.)
The software would preferably not require a keyboard and be single, left mouse button controlled as that is what the touch screen emulates.

I've been googling for a while but not really come up with anything that works.

Your thoughts appreciated.

Wouldn't a click enabled PVR music library be the best for dealing with touch as the fonts, sizings would be quite touch friendly.

I'd thought of that, but my first tries (with GBpvr) were extremely frustrating as it almost works, but jut not enough. e.g. clicks work - until you get to the bottom of a menu and then you need page down or a scroll wheel. sub got some up and down click arrows on some gbpvr menu screens, but not all of them.

I've just come across some oldish Mame software and they seem about right, but currently are falling over too often, but I've not been able to spend too much time debugging.

Someone suggested that MS media centre was a possibility, but I've not seen that yet.

I've just remembered why I haven't tried ml2/3 with the old tablet PC - ever since gbpvr.exe moved to pvrx2.exe the video isn't up to displaying the window.

I'd probably pick media center as well, thats pretty mousu enabled which would make it work well via touch. ML2/3 isn't that mouse enabled...

1>>>>"media engine" its a car touch screen program pretty cool
http://www.mediaengine.org/

OR

2>>> http://dwjukebox.com/ old style jukebox (can be skinned to be modern also)
if you could pick up an old jukebox from somewhere this is the software for it
or build your own Smile

if using old tablet make sure it has finger touch (not just stylus)

From a quick checkout, "media engine" seems to be very suitable for the touchscreen tablet.
I had found in my travels dwjukebox, but sadly ot falls over halfway through indexing my mp3's and I never got any further trying to find out why.

thanks again.

yeah the jukebox doesnt like some mp3s
i loaded about 1600 songs and had to remove about 20 as they stopped it loading couldnt see why it didnt like them .
when its loading you can see what song it is at when it crashes this will give you an idea of letter when it gets to ones it doesnt like just remove folder/letter/group (depends how you have your mp3 stored) then it will carry on

What about VLC. Its free, has it own decoders and there are versions for all the popular operating systems.
