Hi there i'm new to this software, been trying to find a better alternative to media center for awhile now. I've installed GB-PVR but i can't seem to find anything from MUX C i believe it's called. Dave, sky sports news etc. I've been scanning the fenham area over and over but nothing pops up. I've tried scanning further areas and i might find dave on a week signal... but never sky sports news, and it's the channel i can't live without Tongue (especially round the transfer window) Media center picks all channels up no problem so i don't believe it's anything to do with poor signal strength. Fenham is like a 10 minute drive from here also.

I've been tring to find frequency details and such for a manual scan but i'm not having any luck. Does anyone have any ideas? will willingly trade this gay rabbit channel that keeps popping up for sky sports news Tongue

thanks.

Ha, I feel your pain. Although living in Portsmouth watching Sky Sports News is like reading the obituaries... Sad

I would suggest to try an All regions / All Channels scan. Since the digital switch overs started the area scanning can be a little hit and miss. It's worth remembering that GB-PVR can currently only scan for channels that are broadcasting. So for BBC3 for example you'll need to re-scan in the evening.

The DVB setup guide here might be of use. And if you havn't come across it yet the Quick Start page on the wiki.

Also, what OS and hardware (tuner card etc) are you using?

i can imagine Tongue we maniged to grab that williamson fella off you guys Tongue Being a newcastle fan transfer period tends to be dull but we've actually bought people this time :o

i've tried the all region all channels scan but for some reason i get less channels doing that. i set it up using those guides you mentioned.

I'm running windows 7 professional 64bit and got a HVR1110 card.

That is strange.

On the Misc tab of the config app have you tried turning on "Explicitly scan DVB-T offset frequencies"?

i tried that offset in the fenham area i'll try it with all regions.

one thing i did notice when i was scanning, i'm assuming the 6 places it's scanning is the different multiplexers, no channels are found for the 1st 2 it doesn't find anything till the 3rd. So would that mean 2 multiplexers aren't being found?

What output do you get using the ScanChannelsBDA tool?

It lists all the MUXs and frequienceis which may help you edit/update the scan file for your region (C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\BDA\DVB-T\0080.ini)

Has Fenham switched over to digital yet? If so you may want to copy and past this in to a new ini file and put in "C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\BDA\DVB-T\". Then select it as a region in the config app.

Quote:[TERTYPE]
1=UK after DSO
2=Fenham
[DVB]
0=7
1=C21,474000,0,0,8
2=C22,482000,0,0,8
3=C24,498000,0,0,8
4=C25,506000,0,0,8
5=C27,522000,0,0,8
6=C28,530000,0,0,8
7=C30,546000,0,0,8

bah now all the channels are screwed.

using that tool i'm not too sure how to use, i added network like it says set khz to 177500 mbps to 7 and it just said "nothing found on 177500khz frequenzy, moving on."

nope creating that ini file made it find no channels.

before all the channels were working, now that i've done that all region scan they're all a bit knacked. I'll keep trying.
