 Hi - in need of help here!

I am running GBPVR on my WHS along with HD HomeRun but cannot get LiveTV.

GBPVR installed fine and I can access it from a client Vista PC to see and play all videos, photos, music, etc.

I also have the XMLTV EPG data working (I think) - importing from digiguide and exporting out to a data.xml file.

I installed HDHomerun and can detect all the freeview channels using the HDHomerun utility.

When I try and detect the channels in GBPVR - I get nothing, no channels, zilch. It looks thourgh 6 channels C34, C31, C48, C21, C24,C27 and finds nothing - not a glimmer! I've attached some screen shots in teh hope someone will easily spot what I've done wrong.

Help really appreciated!

Thanks

  1. Make sure you add Config, PVRx2 and GBPVRRecordingService to your firewall exceptions.
  2. Adjust <BDAPsiScanStartupSeconds> to 3 and <BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds> to 25 in config.xml
  3. Zip and post your logs showing a scan.

Thanks
  • Firewall Exceptions Set
  • config.xml updated
But still nothing.

Zipped Log File attached. I emptied the EPG and reloaded and then scanned!

Help appreciated

Can you post the config.exe-native.log as well? Make sure it's a matching set.

I see a couple of errors that I have never seen before so I would need sub to tell if they have any bearing on why a signal is never detected or not:

Code:
2010-02-09 19:17:49.753    VERBOSE    FindFilterByName failed to locate filter: Video Mixing Renderer 9
2010-02-09 19:17:49.753    VERBOSE    VMR9 not available - using system default renderer
...
2010-02-09 19:17:49.924    VERBOSE    connecting TIF to demux(1)
2010-02-09 19:17:49.924    ERROR    ConnectFilters:Failed(2)
2010-02-09 19:17:49.924    ERROR    ConnectFilters:Failed(2)

You could try re-installing your BDA components using the HDHomeRun Setup's Advanced tab. Just click the button beside "Repair/Reinstall Windows Components". Other than that, I'm not sure. I've never run the HDHomeRun from WHS before.

Made some progress but starting to loose the battle I think. Sad

I have used the repair/reinstall on the HDHomerun utility. I have also installed VLC player which seems to play live TV much better with HDHR.

In GBPVR Config amazingly I now pick up quite a few channels, although very oddly not any of the main channels like BBC1, BBC2, ITV1, etc.

Even more oddly when I try to watch LiveTV using the channels that it has picked up I simply get a blank screen. It does pick up EPG so I can see what I could be wathing if only I could see something.

I have attached the logs again incase this provides some insight. Thanks.

I do wonder whether the 'filter' error is part of the problem?

Thanks again

Try adjusting <BDAPsiScanStartupSeconds> to 5 and <BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds> to 35. This will giveGBPR a lit more time to find/get the PSIP data.

Zip and post your pvr.exe.log and pvr.exe-native.log after reproducing the problem.

This has improved it slightly again. For some channels I only had Audio#2 and now I have the audio and the full channel name but still none of the main channels BBC1, 2, ITV, 4, CBBC, etc

Logs attached - same problem - blank screen.

Try adjusting those values up incrementally by 5. I think <BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds> is the only one you wil need to adjust from here but could be wrong.

Can you post the logs from the client as well?
