Hi

Sorry if this has been covered before but I have spent a while looking in the threads and couldn't find any info on it. I am currently running v1.3.11 on windows xp sp2 with the nova-t 500 dual tuner.
My issue is that i have set a program to record on TV1 from 7:30 to 8:00 and then a program on TV3 from 8:00 to 8:30. Now my settings are to start recording 2 minutes before the show starts and 10minutes after. So I should get 10 minutes of TV1 after 8:00 before it stops and 2 minutes before 8:00 on TV3. But what happens is that the recording stops straight at 8 so that it can stop and then start recording TV3. I can record tv1 and tv3 at the same time if i select the two channels at the same time(as in shows that are on at the present time, so not scheduled). They will use tunner1 for TV1 and tunner2 for TV3. But for some reason this doesn't happen for shows that are selected to record in the future. Only tunner1 seems to being used which results in no overrun of the program on TV1 and no early recording of the show on TV3. Anyone had this issue before?

Thanks

This could be the problem various people are seeing. I've written on this thread:

http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=31655

It does appear to be a nova-t 500 issue and unfortunately there doesn't appear to be a fix. You should probably follow the advice about using the latest drivers but it didn't work for me. I'm going to look at adding a dual Pinnacle card and then using just one tuner in my 500.

Having said that it would be worth checking the obvious things, like you have got two tuners listed in your config.exe and looking at some of the options in config.xml.

You can try the following in config.xml:
<PreferAlternatingCaptureSources>true</PreferAlternatingCaptureSources>
That should solve you problem.

I have just finished checking that thread and my issue does seem to be a pre and post pad issue. the post http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=2...ostcount=6 doesn't have anything attached to it anymore.
<PreferAlternatingCaptureSources>true</PreferAlternatingCaptureSources>
Is set to false so I will set it to true and test it out tonight.

<TryToHonourPaddingIfPossible>true</TryToHonourPaddingIfPossible>
Is set to true. I will post back tonight after some tests.

Could be the multi recording padding issue as described in this thread...

No, as far as I can see it is the <PreferAlternatingCaptureSources>true</PreferAlternatingCaptureSources>
parameter (see my previous posting). If you have more than one tuner with the same stations (I have 3 tuners with all the same stations) it will record each show with a different tuner and therefore always has the correct padding.
Do not change the padding parameters in the config.xml!

make sure you have all stations enabled on both tuners
or enable all tvnz on one tuner and all canwest(tv3 c4 etc)on the other (this is what i have) that way there is no reason for the tuners to have to swap over
you are using multirecord im guessing
you should be running the latest version also any reason why not ?

He wants to have the correct padding. The only way to get that is switching tuners.
Let us wait till Acetone has done his test to see if my suggestion works before we make more comments on this Big Grin

digital tuners dont need to change sources as they can record the whole stream

unlike old analog tuner which could only record one channel at a time hence the reason to use alternating tuners

this is no longer required for the padding to work

Only if they are of the same frequency/mux though. Different mux needs different tuner.
