analog recordings issue (gets very, very dark)

This is a bit odd, when I try to do some analog recordings, most of the time, all goes well, however, sometimes, it starts out good, then all of the sudden, it looks like it is recording through a lens of mud.
It just gets, very, very dark, and there is no recovery.

It isn't the playback software, nor the machine, since it happens on multiple machines that I view the file.
I even tried VLC, and it was too dark to make out what is going on.

Nothing in the logs indicate any problem at all.

Any pointers to finding out what the issue is?

To be honest, I doubt there isnt any GB-PVR setting that would help this. It sounds like an issue with the device, or its drivers.

Its not a solution, and may not help at all if the brightness is changing through the course of the recording, but you might be able to work around the issue with the settings in the [SETUP-VideoProcAmp] setting of the Direct.ini file. (ie, increasing the brightness).
