brand new HP w/hauppauge - no channels found

hi - went totally crazy and got a new-ish PC from HP running Vista 64. Installed fine (had to run the mc2xml.exe as admin) but No Channels Found during scan. I ran Re-registerfilters.bat sucessfully (as admin) - still no luck.

Any suggestions? Its an HVR-1800.

I am using the same TV coax that I used last night on my old system which also has an HVR-1800 (normally get 20 channels or so)

I'm not sure why, but the device never managed to start, so it never really did the scan.

Maybe the device was in use in some other software?

wow. huh. The machine is new out of the (refurbished) box. the HVR1800 drivers appear loaded according to Device manager. Let me see if there's any weird HP software that is grabbing that card.

ok... I disabled Media Center so nothing should be grabbing the card, yeah?

Rebooted, rescanned - still no joy.

Any other suggestions?

No. I'm using Windows 7 64bit.

hey sub - all fixed - ran hwclear.exe and wiped my config. After this strangely I could not install the Hauppauge HVR-1800 drivers at all - but Windows detected and did some magic (loaded Happauge HVR 1800drivers) and problem solved!!
