Ok, so the Myka's don't seem to be that appealing to GB-PVR users. What about refurbished A110's http://www.popcornhour.com/onlinestore/i...urbished_1 At $105 US if some GB-PVR users don't pick these up, then I might as well stop writing GB-PVR clients.

Ah, but how do you know people aren't getting them?.

Now if you wrote crap software then you could track sales with support posts, but with everything working so smoothly "it just works". Smile

If you are feeling bored, then I'd like a Windows version of your client. sub seems to have semi-abandoned it, but I still use it and put up with it's idiosyncrasys, mainly for housekeeping, searching and planning. I think you mentioned before the problem of folk trying to use inadequate hardware though.

Also, most of the people which come into the MVP / NMT sub-forums probably have one of these.
There will be new GBPVR users who are just using a PC, and a $100 extender with full interface would seem like a pretty good deal.

I liked the look of those Myka devices (and their IONs) but my A100 does everything I want at the moment (except maybe integrate the web radio LATM stuff with recordings, or recordings metadata)

That just about sums it up - I'm happy with mine, easy to install, easy to use, no maintenance required, and excellent results. I never could get a network share working due to restrictions imposed by my domain server, but it runs from a USB stick with no problems.

I might pick one up.. Im just curious what the brokerage fee from DHL would be (I sent them an email).
Have you done one of these packages, Martin ? What do they sting us for to import into Canada ?

There might be a few users I haven't heard from, but less than 50 have downloaded the latest patch. I'm not complaining, I just figure if no one really wants them for around $100, effort towards the $200 and $300 new models seems to be a waste of time. It's also a heads up to those MVP users that they may need a PC one day.

@martin123, I decided that ultimately the only reason I use GBPVR is because of extender support, so although I had started on linux client, I decided not to bother. The way GB-PVR is running for me these days, I can go years without a change.

@JonnyCam, why not just post-process your LATM files and get the full experience? I wrote the hook in WR to show what is possible.

@Dave72. When I first bought my A100 I ended up paying $55 because I had to pay world shipping and $15 I guess that's why I see these new machines as such bargains, I don't regret the $250 I spend. Since then I think it is has been about $15 each time. Like anything mail order GST/HST and or PST is a bit like the lottery.

Well I haven't downloaded it yet as live TV doesn't interest me & the three other NMT users I help out also haven't bothered downloading it either.....I wonder how many others there are?

Kind of funny, like many are saying, it works well so I have not messed with it. I did not even notice there was a patch until I read this since I am not actively looking for fixes. Off to the patch store!

I think I paid $25 each for the 2 A100 referbs I got last year.

Is there any advantage to upgrading my A100's to A110? DTS downmix I think is one, but I generally record off of analog cable so it's not a problem. Will my near flawless GBPVR experience get better?

I'm like soccerdad and Jaggy, I haven't had any issues that cause me concern so I didn't even notice there was a patch!

Upgrading from the A100 to the A110 wouldn't be worth it, if you didn't already notice the main differences

- HDMI 1.3a vs HDMI 1.1
- optical SPDIF
- DTS downmix
- internal HDD SATA connector (no speed increase)
- can connect to PC using USB port for data xfer
- power switch
