I'm a pushover for bargains and gizmos, so I ordered one and it has just arrived. It looks like they are going in and out of stock
It has been freed up and more outside apps are available as are some linux distributions.

I intend to try to use it to display the status of the remote server - sleep state, upcoming and current recordings etc. It is far too easy to hit the satellite remote to view something live on the TV when it is recoding something else.

Looks cool, and I would probably get one, except for the fact that they of course don't ship to NZ (in fact I had to use a UK proxy to even visit the O2 page). Have fun gadgeting!

Hmm. Looks interesting. Out of stock at the moment. Do you know if you pre-order somehow? Or buy from the O2 shops?

This would make a great touchscreen remote for GBPVR. Just have to figure out how I can get one over here in the US.

I saw the deal on "hotdeals" http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/676963/o2...store-and- and followed the link and ordered as it was in stock at the time. It appears the deal was on in April and recently repeated and may well repeat again. I think the box was originally at something like £150 and as a consumer device was a failure hence the stock clearance.
Looks like it was sourced from http://openpeak.com

Looks like it might be difficult here now???

Well I got my gbpvr status screens displayed on it wirelessly and by the server saving the images on my NAS, I get to see them when the server is sleeping.

I also see someone has XBMC running (ish?) on one.

Is there a chance of getting the Joggler to run GBPVR in some kind of client mode? Realise that the immediate limitation is currently:

a) only available in UK.

2) Out of stock anyway!

Have seen it run up with ubuntu and then RDP. So worst case scenario RDP into my GBPVR Server?

Whurlston, why you interested Big Grin

It ought to run VNC, although I haven't got round to trying that. It could be ok for gbpvr menus and the like, but not too good for video if the PC VNC is anything to go by.
The box itself plays my gbpvr recordings fine, including BBC HD (but needs renaming from ts to avi !).

The touch screen is not too good with ubuntu as the size of the text vs the size of my fingertip is not too good. There is no web browser with the standard software which is a shame. All the apps seem to be flash based. Someone has produced some addon apps including all the UK tv channels which work surprisingly well.

Still out of stock and inflated prices on ebay. I'll get another if/when the pop up on o2's site again.
