Hi,

First and foremost: Thank you for the amazing app that just keeps getting better and better!
I spent the better part of today configuring nPVR and it's working like a charm now (at least almost).
Here's what I can do, that Pvrx2 didn't handle:
1) I can now use both tuners (doing this in Pvrx2 resulted in a BSOD 100% of the time)
2) I can record encrypted channels and only one, I can do several!!!
3) I've got a gorgeus new skin (Wave - Thank you Hairy!)

Roses have thorns though...
In earlier versions there was a setting you could put into config.xml to choose epg language. As Finland is a bilingual country, my epg is currenty kinda mix and match of finnish and swedish. Config.xml has changed quite a bit and I was wondering how to configure that now? Or, if the setting is missing, please please add it back.

Second problem is with DVB subtitles, which I can't seem to get displayed. It's not a big deal, but just wondering where nPVR is with this.

Again, thanks for a great piece of software!

Great. Glad you like it.

At the moment there is no facility to specify the DVB EPG language. It just chooses whatever language it finds first on the channel's listings. I do hope to add some configuration options for this in a future build, but I cant tell you exactly when that'll be though, but you could use xmltv in the meantime.

DVB Subtitles should be working. If its not working for you, you'll probably need to supply a short recording so I can take a look.

Ctrl-X turns dvb-subtitles on, teletext subtitles is not yet working but Sub has promised to fix it later. As for subtitle language you'll have to edit it in Config.xml (in npvr's data directory), search for PreferredLanguage and set it to the language you want.

Thank you both for the quick replys. I guess I'll need to setup xmltv then. Never came to think of ctrl+x, I just tried ctrl+y, which did the trick in Pvrx2.

Is there any update or workaround for this since this post? I'm in Finland and my EPG is a mix of Finnish and Swedish. My Finnish ain't great, but it's a lot better than my Swedish!

I've tried various preferred language options in the settings but nothing seems to do the trick. I hope you help me out.

You can press the Yellow or Green button (cant remember which) and it'll show you a list of the subtitles, and you can select whichever one you want.

Yellow button is Subtitles (ctrl-x), green button is audio channel (alt-g).

Sorry, I should have been more clear. My problem is not with subtitles or audio, it's with the EPG. The EPG shows a mixture of Finnish and Swedish program titles and descriptions.

Finland is officially a bilingual country so EPG data is available in both languages. On a normal TV you can choose which language to use. With WMC you can set the language by making an edit to the registry. I am hoping that there is something I can do in NextPVR that will let me set the EPG to prefer Finnish EPG data.

I had a similar problem when I was using DVB updating in npvr settings, I always got mixed languages. It turned out that my provider transmits epg in all the nordic languages, but in random order. So I use DVBGuide to capture the epg to an xmltv-file, and then I can set <PreferredLangXMLTV>no</PreferredLangXMLTV> in Config.xml.
Download and run DVGuide and capture the epg to a file, look in the file and see if you have multiple languages (I suspect you have), you'll need to experiment a bit to find the frequency that transmits the full epg (most frequencies have none or just now/next epg) unless it is documented somewhere. Then set npvr to update from that xmltv file instead of directly from dvb.

Note that you have to use the same language code in Config.xml as there is in the xmltv file, ie. if it is two letter code use two letters, if it is three letters use "swe" Smile

Edit: Use DVBGuide v0.95, npvr does not cope so well with the output from newer versions.

Thanks for the tip. That seems to have done the trick!
