When I click Live TV the screen blinks but nothing else happens

Is there a checklist of things to look at when Live TV does not work? I actually don't want/need to use the recording function: I just want to view the video coming straight from the Hauppage WinTV USB2 device. If I've selected that in the Capture Source tab.

Did you setup your channels in the Settings screen? If not there are no channels to watch.

I didn't think to set up a channel, because I'm using the composite inputs, and an external tuner, but I did indeed need to set up a channel. Thank you!
Now, when I view Live TV, I get about 1 second of audio, and then silence. Any idea why that might be? Thanks again!

Those are GB-PVR logs, but posted in the NPVR forum.
I'd suggest trying the newer NPVR application. That said, it looks like you need to set the MPEG1 Layer II audio decoder.

I would love to try the NPVR. I Googled it, and had lots of hits, none of which seemed appropriate. Would you please point me in the right direction?

Thanks! I have downloaded and installed NPVR. It can not find any Devices, even though GB-PVR could do so on the same computer. Any thoughts?
Note that with this site/forum, I often have to re-start my browser in order to post. Otherwise, I get "expired token" errors, that do not go away if I refresh the page (despite what the error messages suggest) |
