FM Radio

Sorry to ask a stupid question but how do you setup the fm radio. I have a hauppauge 2200, and the radio works with windows media centre. Running windows 7 64bit.

You need to go into the Devices section and open your analog device. You'll see 4 tabs...Add, Add FM, Delete and Import. Select the Add FM tab and manually add the frequency. The channel number doesn't really matter but you don't want to use one that is already taken up by your analog tv.

I only show two digital devices and no analog. How would I add this?

The analog side of this device will only appear if you have the WinTV7 software installed. NPVR depends on a component in WinTV7.

quick question about fm radio, only a slight hijaak:

should any Hauppauge analog tuner be able to support FM Radio, or is it only those that actually say they have FM support? I can't find any current Hauppauge device (for the US) that says it has an FM tuner.

It needs to be a device that has FM support. I cant give you a definitive list, but devices like the HVR-2250 support FM.

Hauppauge's pages on the 2250 absolutely do not mention FM Radio support; of course it's not up to you what Hauppauge puts on their site, but if it's a feature they just don't mention any more, then I can't tell whether either of my tuners (HVR-1250, HVR-850) should work. In my very limited attempt so far neither did, but of course in absence of information on whether they should I can't know whether to troubleshoot or give up.

The funny/stupid thing is for all the time that GB-PVR and then NPVR didn't support FM Radio, I neither knew whether my tuners had FM nor cared one whit about it. But now that NPVR has FM support, I'm suddenly all keen to get it working.

edit: yes, also, as PCostanza pointed out, you can download WinTV7; it simply requires you to insert your WinTV6 cd to validate the upgrade. here's the direct download link: http://hauppauge.lightpath.net/software/...d_2.1a.exe
