While playing video, both live TV and recordings, I am not able to pause, fast forward or anything. I cant even move the marker in the time bar at the top. The only way I can stop it is to right click and exit.

any ideas??

Are you using the keyboard shortcuts or your remote? ie, there are no mouse buttons for clicking on.

ie,

Ctrl-S, stop
Ctrl-RightArrow, skip forward a minute
Ctrl-LeftArrow, skip back a minute
Ctrl-F, skip forward 10 seconds
Ctrl-R, skip back 10 seconds
Ctrl-Q, pause
etc
Ctrl-P, play

see the sticky thread in my signature; the bottom of either the first or third post (i forget which) has an entry on that. It may be on the npvr wiki as well, which is also linked in the thread.

And in KeyMappings.xml under NPVR datadirectory, where you can actually modify them yourself (but make a backup first).

Your thread is okay but "wiki first" should be the golden rule for support, it's they only way to get all users collaborating on the best documentation solution.

True. I wasn't sure if the wiki had the keyboard reference info yet, but it probably does. It's probably time now also to start removing some of the redundant info in my sticky; it's not meant to compete with the wiki, just a quick reference to explain a few things to new users and provide a patch repository for all (the latter is surely the most popular aspect of it).

Your thread is more complete and that is the problem, users aren't compelled to contribute to make the wiki better and "the" reference document it should be. I have the same problem with my own stuff, I can't seem to get users to help out by contributing on the wiki, which I probably why I am also it's biggest fan.

An (incomplete) Keyboard reference summary can be found here.

Also, if anyone wants a wiki account post on the access request thread.
