This morning I noticed my guide listings were empty. I had just run an epg update 2 days ago but ran one again and while mc2xml is updating, the guide is not. I then emptied the EPG and ran the update again, with no luck.
Where NPVR use to take a little bit to update the listings, it does so much faster and way before mc2xml completes it's guide update.
Other than to remove the devices and start over, what options do I have? I'd rather not do this as I haven't been able to get all my channels when I scan and have been using the same database since .23 which was the last time the scans picked up all my channels.

One more thing that I think shouldn't have anything to do with this problem is I updated HDHR firmware last night.
Logs attached

According to your logs, you have two XML files defined. One in the root of C which isn't there, and one in the NPVR program directory which doesn't appear to have any current data in it:
Code:
2010-09-02 06:53:09.047    [INFO][6]    EPG update thread starting...
2010-09-02 06:53:09.096    [DEBUG][6]    Updating EPG
2010-09-02 06:53:14.159    [DEBUG][6]    Will process xmltv file: D:\Program Files (x86)\NPVR\EPG\xmltv.xml
2010-09-02 06:53:14.164    [DEBUG][6]    Will process xmltv file: D:\xmltv.xml
2010-09-02 06:53:14.164    [DEBUG][6]    Loading XMLTV from: D:\Program Files (x86)\NPVR\EPG\xmltv.xml
2010-09-02 06:53:16.643    [DEBUG][6]    Skipping non-existant xmltv file: D:\xmltv.xml
2010-09-02 06:53:16.643    [DEBUG][6]    channelEventLists.Count=0

Also, presuming you're running Windows Vista or 7, you should never put your own stuff under Program Files. Even if you've dealt with UAC issues properly, it's poor form at best.

Hmmm, I did a reinstall (reimage) of W7 a few weeks ago and thought I had wiped out xmltv. However, the problem just started this morning so I doubt that's it. But, thanks for the info.

Maybe I shouldn't post this here but it might be related. Lately I've got the 'interactive' message in W7 when I boot up. It mentions the same directory. I've not said anything before because I have been waiting to see if support for Schedules Direct would be coming in a future version and possibly integrated differently.
Anyone get any messages like this?

You get this when you boot up? Why do you have MC2XML in your startup?

Sorry to be argumentative, but why do you doubt that's it? That's what the logs are telling you: You've defined two xml files, one isn't there and the other doesn't seem to have any current data in it.

No need to apologize, I appreciate your input.
I don't have mc2mxl in my start up. I think my problem with the pop up is that I have the EPG set to update at 6 pm and if I boot up shortly after 6pm, that message pops up. As a test, it's 8:05 as I type this. I changed the EPG update to 8pm and immediately I get that interactive popup. Not sure why that is.
I do know that the same thing happens on 2 of my machines.
Also, I did remove the xmltv directory and started over with an EPG update and it appears to be working now.

Way off subject but....Look at the screen capture above. I just love that the message says the "program may need information form you..." Even W7 has problems with typos.

On subject, I really like the fact that NPVR is split to make it easy to put things like mc2xml and the batch files in the public area. It makes remote updating and batch file editing much easier. I don't add anything to the program file area unless I have to.

Now I'm going way off subject.......where in NC are you? You feeling any effects of Hurricane Earl?

I think the information it needs from me is simply the fact that it takes some time for the EPG to update while the guide is being pulled from Schedules Direct. It's rather slow and sits there for a bit so that you almost think nothing is happening.

Double check your command line parameters calling mc2xml. That popup is usually thrown when a service which runs in the SYSTEM space (session 0) attempts to display a message or window to the user desktop session. I suspect that mc2xml is attempting to open the popup window because it can't find the configuration specified in your command line.
