It's easy to describe this problem by an example:

assume we have three channels: TV1, TV2, TV3
In the pictures, TV1 = ZDF, TV2 = 3sat, TV3 = arte. Error when I want to record the "Stilles Licht" program when other programs like "heute-journal" or "ZIB2" is/are recording.

1 - The first situation, we record at the same time TV1 and TV2, that's ok, no problem.
2 - The second one, we record at the same time TV1 and TV3, we have a message: "No tuner available for this recording" (also when we record TV2 and TV3, this message is also displayed)
3 - thirdly, we record only channel TV1, then choose TV3 to watch, we have this message: "Unable to find available capture device"
4 - Now, we also record only channel TV1, then go to Live-TV, open the channel TV2, that works. However, if we open the channel TV3, we have another message: "Requested channel not currently available"

Summary:
TV1 + TV2 = ok
TV1 + TV3 or TV2 + TV3 = problem.
what happens?

Its complicated.

What tuners do you have in your machine, and what channels do they have available?

Sounds to me like only one tuner and TV1 and TV2 are on the same frequency, TV3 on a different.

I see the problem now, the frequencies are different. But, is there any solution or impossible to record two channels in different frequencies?

If the channels are on the same frequency you can use multirecord and record/watch sevral channels at the same time, but for different frequencies you need one tuner for each frequency. So the solution is more capture devices, alternativly one or more dual-tuner device(s).

The only way you can record channels on different frequencies at the same time is by using multiple tuner devices.

Thanks,
I only see dual-tuner devices, so it can only record 2 different frequencies at the same time. Do you have any suggestion about any device with more than 2 tuners?

Also Reddwarf what would be your advice about having multiple USB capture cards? Would USB Bus take it?
