import of recurring events does not record imported events

I created a recurring schedule within the interface and then exported it. Made some changes to the xml file (added new entries) added 1 to each new OID, cleared the recording schedule within the interface, then imported my modified xml file. The list does appear in the recurring recordings list, properly, but, the pending recordings list contains nothing. I cleared that recurring recording list. Created 3 new recurring recordings. Exported that list, cleared the schedule in the interface, then tried to import that unmodified xml file, and I get the same results. Recurring events appear in the recurring list, but nothing appears in the pending list. Also, if I double click on a recurring event, then try to update it, the only item that appears from that recurring event is the name I assigned to it, the station, start and stop times default to what appears to be the entry of a new manual recording.

Am I missing something when importing my xml file(s)?

I don't think imported recurring events will generate their individual pending recordings until you do an EPG update.

Even if the recording schedule I have created contains only manual recordings?

I only need to have specific times on specific channels recorded. Is there a way to get the recurring entries to record without having to retrieve guide data, or set up the guide?

Honestly I don't know for sure, you're trying something that surely has not occurred to anyone to test. It won't hurt anything to click "update epg" even if you don't have an EGP source defined... NPVR should still do the normal processing including recurring recordings.

Thanks. I just tried to Update EPG, and it tried to scan a channel for guide data, with no results. I then changed each channel to EPG Source: None. Clicked on Update EPG, it said it updated. But the Pending Recordings list does not update.

If you imported recurring recordings from GBPVR, you'd have to have already had channels set up with exactly the same names (even if their EPG was set to 'none'). The individual episodes (whether EPG recurring, or manual recurring) would be scheduled when you do an 'update epg'.

Ok, I found another post with the same problem that I am encountering.

There is a new Nshared.dll file in that post. I just downloaded it, restarted nPVR, Updated the EPG and now the Pending Recordings do indeed show a complete list of future recurring recordings! W00t!!!! Thank you for your help!

Oh, I guess I should have asked, but it didn't occur to me that you weren't running the current code. There were several fixes to manual recordings since 1.5.33. Have a look at the thread linked in my signature; there's a cumulative patch archive in post 3 that will bring you up to date.

edit: I guess the recurring recordings fix didn't make my list, but the NShared.dll in the cumulative patch is dated 11/11, so it would include whatever was in the 11/6 patch that fixed your problem.
