I have a strange niggle, when watching a recording, video or live TV every so often the TV screen goes blank for a second or so then comes back. Its like the when the monitor goes off after inactivity, the TV displays seraching for signal for a second then finds a signal and comes back on. It happens every 10 - 20 mins but can be more random than that.

The HTPC is currently connected to a Samsung HDTV via HDMI.

Initially I thought it was a problem with the system setup, ie drivers, settings etc. but after some investigation changing cables, using a different TV and using VGA output instead of HDMI I haven't been able to cured it. Finally I played a recording with WMP in fullscreen mode for an hour and the problem didn't occur.

Can anyone shed so light on this?

It's not a massive problem but it detracts from the otherwise good user experience.

NPVR 1.5.33 is installed on Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.

Just on a side note I think NPVR is excellent, GBPVR was good (my parents still use it) but NPVR IMO takes good leap forward, initially I thought it looked quite restrictive campared to GBPVR but I realised after using it for while that the features I use were built into the main program and just worked from the start. Basically I think Sub and the other developers have produced an excellent product with a good feature set and capability for a modern PVR/HTPC system. Well done and thanks Smile

Could it be the Windows screensaver that tries to kick in? Have you looked at the screensaver settings?

It's usually something simple! The screen saver was set to none so I left that but I noticed that the power plan was set to turn the display off after 1 minite so I changed that to 5 and the problem has gone away.

Thanks for the prompt Reddwarf
