Remapped green button on remote, each press opens another instance....

I have an MCE remote and installed LMremote to remap the green button so that nextpvr.exe would launch. Works great... too great. Each time the button is pressed, a new instance and window of NPVR starts. I can see it now, the remote gets stuck in the couch with the button pressed and I wake up one morning to a bazillion instances of npvr running.
Anyone know how to keep NPVR from opening more than one instance, like a command line switch I can use?

It's not supposed to open multiple instances, and there is code specifically to check for and prevent it from doing so (in fact you can see the log message about it in the NPVR log - "Created mutex, must be only instance" or something to that effect). However for some reason it doesn't work for some/most/all users other than sub himself. (and to be clear, it doesn't work for me either. I mapped a difficult-to-hit-by-mistake button on my remote to launch NPVR)

Since this box is going to be running NPVR pretty much 24x7, I'm going to simply uninstall LM Remote and use App monitor to keep nextpvr.exe running, along with removing the exit button from the ribbon. If I accidentally close it, it'll restart 10 seconds later. I just have to test it to make sure it isn't too CPU intensive doing the check.

I have the green button mapped to starting npvr in the default section but I have it mapped to something else in the npvr section. That way it doesn't start another one when npvr is already in focus. Although that's not the reason I do this as I want it to do something else when npvr is running. Mind you, I've never seen multiple instances run...

mine does the multiple instances run thingy as well. The new code do-dah didn't work. No stress, just have to pay attention

FWIW: I updated liteswaps start_pvrx2 utility to work with npvr. it keeps npvr running and in focus.

Thanks gEd, I'll check it out. I found the OG wiki entry for it, and it looks like it might offer a little more options than app monitor, especially if I want to pause it.
