Having hijacked the "win 7 codecs" thread, thought I should start my own asking for help... I am going mad trying to sort something out I wonder might be an nPVR issue. Can anyone who has channels with AC3 audio and uses spdif to an external amp for AC3 decoding try this?? Watch live TV in nPVR and pause it for a few seconds. Unpause and see if it's still in sync. Pause again for a few seconds (~10 or so) and unpause... by now for me it's very obviously out of sync. If it;s not, try pausing again for longer. If I stop playback and restart (using resume) it's back in sync.
I have tried different AC3 decoders but all do the same and have concluded mpeg audio channels are fine, but AC3 ones are not. It never used to do this though which makes me wonder if the latest nPVR has caused it. I dont think I've done anything else to the machine. I've upgraded the SAF5, but have then installed AC3Filter and that does it too. So I am leaning back towards nPVR...
