I am new to next pvr and was not able to find a solution for an audio issue I am having. When I setup a device (HDPVR) it gives me 3 options rca back, rca front and spdif. I want to use rca back however every time I select this option it reverts back to spdif. I have tried deleting and adding back the device along with deleting config.xml. I have attached a screenshot of the setting along with my current and old config.xml and logs. If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be appreciated.

You set the input source then import your channels. They'll be imported with those settings. It doesn't matter what the input source is set to the rest of the time.

Yep, what he said.

You can see what each channel is using by looking at the 'details' column. If you want to change the audio or video input used by some channels, select the channels, then right-click and select 'update to current'. They'll then be updated to whatever audio/video inputs are current selected at the top of the screen.

It's done this way so you cane have different channels using different inputs. Like you might want some channels using component+SPDIF, and others using SVideo+RCA.

sub it might help avoid this confusion if you make the input source selectors stick on whatever was last selected. It wouldn't change the functionality any, just avoid confusing the user.

also it might help users understand better if instead of "Input Source:" the text in the dialog says "Input Source for New Channels:". Along with that it would make sense for the two checkboxes to be directly beneath the device identification, as they apply to the device rather than any individual channel, with the Input Source and Channel Changer selections in the second section with the channel list.

Yeah, I've put a note on the screen for the next release which will hopefully help.

I had initially considered removing the inputs entirely from that screen, and instead put them on the top of the 'Add Channel' or 'Import Channel' popups, but this would have removed any way to update existings channels. If the confusion continues, I may still go down that path - if users want to change existing channels then they can delete them and recreate them. Thoughts?

Having to delete and re-create the channels to change the input or channel changer could be cumbersome; if the user is using a single tuner, they'd get new Channel_OID's, so existing recurring recordings would break, and if they have multiple tuner types they'd probably have to re-merge the channels again. Those who use an HDPVR or Collossus with a cable box probably have many dozens to hundreds of channels - not fun.

I'd suggest the existing system is fine as is, just a few tweaks to make it more clear.
