I see a few posts on here about the hauppauge remote going slow.

I appreciate sub says it's nothing to do with nPVR.

On my new system, remote control commands sent with the keyboard are like lightening, and the remote was the same previously with gbpvr on XP.

Now with W7 and nPVR I'm seeing a full one second or so delay between remote control button presses. Very noticable when scrolling around the monus and recordings.

Google helped me find a few people with other pvr apps who had success by moving cables around in the PC case, but it didn't change anything for me ... has anyone actually managed to fix this?

Cheers

Same thing here on Win 7. I also have one of the generic MCE-like remotes that emulates a keyboard and it works as quick as the keyboard. So, there's apparently something in the Hauppauge/Win 7 interface, unless of course someone has seen this on XP as well.

Me too - at present the slow remote / no volume control are what's keeping me on PVRX2. I know some users have suggested just getting an MCE remote, but I have always liked the Hauppage 45-button remotes - they can be easily tweaked to control any program with keyboard control, and ironically they control Windows Media Center fully without any tweaks needed. Hauppage have always supported GBPVR so I think it's odd their remotes were not taken into account.

When you say "fine" is that without using server suite? I seen in other posts this is what you normally recomend

Also what is the best way to check if DirectX is installed right? I have installed the version from the prerequsites and if I try again, it tells me it's already installed. Any tips would be appreciated

Yes "ir server suite" is what im using on W7 used to use "Hip" on xp but its just crap on W7
in ir server suite there are some extra bit you could try to configure your remote may not help

Reason i asked is to establish what he has and hasn't tried

All good stustunz. I'm only wondering because I have the same issue. I'm currently using the MCE (beanbag) remote because of this but I would like to go back to the HCW 45 if I can sort the problem. It's just that I have the reciever built into my HTPC case and it worked so well with GBPVR. Also it is taking a loooooong time to retrain the, um, "other" user Smile I'll look again at my directX and report back

I dont think it will be direct x or the keyboard response time would be slow
I think its a hauppauge driver issue

going by your results

Its the same here, SWMBO is nagging me about the slow remote speed.
I'm seriously thinking about PVRX2, just for some peace & quiet Big Grin

I've tried one of these, which is very quick, but not all the buttons work & we prefer the hauppauge rc.
