Visual indicator of position in list

A GUI improvement: some sort of visual indicator of how far down the list I am, like a scroll bar but not interactive. I am with Sub in that I dont like menus that wrap around, but I would still like an indicator as to where I am in the list. I would also like it in the TV guide that does wrap around, I am often to stupid to realise that I've wrapped around and I'm abck at the begining.

What lists are you talking about? The videos/pictures/music lists? Most views have a "File: 1/100" entry on screen, showing the currently selected index and the total count.

And menus *should* wrap around
Bloody annoying when you want to select the last element and have to press "down" multiple times to get to it when you can see it there taunting you and just a single "up" press away if only the menu wrapped. And sub's menus - the TV Guide popup for one - do wrap.

The lists don't. But you can do fast navigation with the number keys (not the numpad), eg 5 to jump to 50% through the list, 8 for 80% and so on.
