Hi,

This is a problem I've been meaning to ask about for a while, still present in the latest version.

When playing a radio recording from DVB-T, neither the long or short backward skip buttons will actually make any progress backwards in the timeline, in fact they seem to cause a forward skip of a few seconds.

Also, the skip forward buttons seem to skip forward more than they should, for example, long skip forward is going forward by between 1.5 and 2 minutes, rather than the 1 minute that it consistently does in tv recordings.

Am I the only one having this problem?

Can anyone confirm whether or not they're able to skip backwards in radio recordings?

I've also noticed that when listening to live radio, the time displayed on the OSD never updates.

Sorry, but I've done very little testing with audio only channels. I'll try to do more with it in future though.

I can't skip backwards in radio playback, and I don't have a timeline displayed. Are there any configuration settings I need to change to get the timeline displayed during radio playback?

I seem to remember that there is tickbox under settinhs->Misc named "Use alternate OSD...", you could try this.

Yes, I spotted that, and was quite hopeful, but with that ticked, and all possible different renderers, I still don't get a timeline with radio playback.
I can use PowerDVD 11, so its not too much of a problem for me.

This should hopefully get the OSD working with radio playback.

Cheers, that works and so I can now navigate the time-line with the mouse.
As noted above, the time-line display stays on screen but only updates for about 5 seconds after it is "woken up" by skipping or moving the mouse. I do remember another thread saying that the OSD is not updated when video is not present with some renderers, so its not that it isn't being updated, its that its not clearing after it finishes being updated.
I can now see that skip forward goes forward 70 sec (+30), fast forward +55 (+15), skip back goes forwards 25 sec (-10) and +30 rewind (-5) (figures in brackets are what they do with video).

I looked into this and I know why it's happening. The NPVRTSReader filter defaults to a relatively big 128K buffer size, which works great for video, but unfortunately for audio-only ts files with much lower bit rate, a lot of audio is can be in that 128K buffer. When the application askes the ts reader for the current playback position, it reports the position as being the end position of the buffer it's already delivered.

In future I'll see if I can have it dynamically renegotiate a smaller buffer size if we're playing a low bitrate audio only stream.
