Will the Egreat M31B Work?

Just wondering if the software will work with the above. It's got a SMP8635 chip, so looks good?

It is a first gen NMT so it should work, but I don't have first hand knowledge to say for sure. I'd do some research and find out what firmware it has, especially if you want to play you'd want 2010 software but that won't play recent mkvs with header compression without remuxing. If you are buying used some older NMT's have been cross-flashed to look like an A110 all I can say about that is caveat emptor.

Thanks for the reply. I think I'll pass on it. It's a used one and unless I'm sure it works (I don't), can't see adding it to my list of toys. I'll stick with the PC client for now.

Yep, when I ordered one the other day it worked out to $160'ish NZ delivered & the NZ dollar has climbed a tad since then against the US$ so by the 28th (projected date of debit against credit card) it may actually be less than that, so to me that one on TradeMe, as I said before, is on the expensive side.

Yes, that's the one. Also don't know if it can do HE-AAC audio playback for TV1, etc. recordings.

Assuming it will work with NextPVR (& as I said before I'm fairly sure it will) then using mvpmcx2 it will do HE-AAC audio playback thanks to the innovative patch Martin figured out. I have been highly surprised that not many HE-AAC users have actually thanks him for this update which was a deal breaker down this way for DVB-T.

I didn't expect a lot of thanks. I didn't want a situation like the lack of AC3 support on the MVP to become and issue, however I simply misjudged the number of NextPVR/GBPVR users who would have considered HE-AAC support important.

Yup. For me in NZ HE-AAC is a must have. Until now, the problem has always been finding a client that supports both npvr/gbpvr AND HE-AAC.
