But how do others do it? Do you use the Video library? And how do you keep track of what you have watched and what you haven't. I guess if you follow a show every week it's not so bad, but I'd tend to get a bunch, watch them, get a bunch more, but not actually watch for say 2 months...so I never remember what I'm up to.

Just want to see what others do, and is it just because I have a stupid viewing style, and an appalling memory...

For tracking what I've watched, I haven't found a program that fits my needs/wants completely so I use a self-created Tap Forms database on an iPod Touch and manually add listings by a copy/paste from either tv.msn.com or Wikipedia; not elegant or automatic but it works for now. I'm going to check out the Episode Organizer that mian mentioned; it looks interesting.

You might also check out next-episode.net. Of the online methods I've tried, this one isn't too bad. It gets it's data from TV.com, I believe. Sometimes I find dates incorrect or it just doesn't have a show listed that I watch so it falls a little short there. There is also a mobile app for iPhone/iPod that you can sync with your online account and, I think, an app for Android. Another problem with it, is that there's only one profile attached; no way to track what multiple people have watched (unless this has been implemented lately and I just haven't found out about it). Online is free - the app for iPhone was $2.99. (By the way, I'm not associated with them - not trying to sell you on something Big Grin).

I would like to find an easy method to track what multiple people have watched within the PVR itself. I'm just getting started with NextPVR and am presuming this isn't something that can be done at this point.

Unfortunately, neither NextPVR nor any of the plug-ins currently provide this functionality. Sad

I switch to XBMC to watch that stuff. The amount of information, posters and fanart that get automatically downloaded is fantastic, and it tells you what's been watched. You can even sync the database between multiple machines.

I know of a friend, who sets up a seperate folder for each show, in videos (he is still on gbpvr), then he uses eztv to set up the rss feeds, to download to the appropriate folders. He often gets the entire show before it is aired in my timezone (because it's offered on the east coast). If only I were as smart as he... .

I tend to put them into directories of the video plugin. Had no idea I could import them into recordings! The video plugin does give some indication of if you've watched it before as it'll ask if you want to resume if you have, and wont if you haven't...Crude, but does the job with my poor memory!

I watch shows then delete them. If something needs to be saved, it gets moved to videos, i.e., everything in videos has been viewed already. In practice, old recordings in videos are never viewed again and get deleted after a year or so. Other sources go into videos.

I do something very, very similar with ShowRSS.
