Black Screen Playing SageTV recorded files

So I've been experimenting a little with NPVR. Thanks to Martin I can now see the recordings made by SageTV in NPVR but they will not play. I've tried many combinations of MPG decoder and renderer but all I get is a black screen with no video or audio. I'm running NPVR on WindowsXP.

The cause isnt immediately obvious from looking at the log. Can you also zip and attach your config.xml file?

I'm not really sure, but you could try setting <ForceMpgGraph> to 'false' in your config.xml, then try again. If that doesnt get it working, then I might need to add a few lines of logging in the problem area to work out what is going wrong.

I just tried an mpeg-1 video and got exactly the same graph and black screen.

The recordings are mpeg2.

Hi Tom,

I've been using the MPV and MPA decoders for years now. If you want to try them you can download them from these links...

Also stick to VMR9 with XP (at least for testing).
