New guy here and just getting started. Most of the topics here are so far over my head I have no clue what you're talking about, but I'm trying & learning.

My first road block in attempting to get my system going is that I will be using the Adaptec avc 3610 analog tuner. I downloaded the Hauppauge Wintv7 and the associated 32 bit SoftPVR bat. The instructions say that I am supposed to edit the bat. to reflect the new Wintv7 version (2.3g) via Notepad. I have no idea how to do this. If someone could give me a little (lot) of step by step guidance it would be appreciated. Thank you.

You are diving a bit into the deep end starting off with an analogue tuner.

I guess the easiest way to edit it would be find it with Windows Explorer, right mouse click on it and select 'edit' from the list.

Good luck, there's plenty here to help out if you get stuck.

Our cable is piped in as analog for the basic channels. Plus I have this tuner left over from our old Media Center Edition.Big Grin

he doesn't mean you shouldn't be using it, only that getting an analog tuner working is one of the slightly more complicated things in NPVR so it's unfortunate that's where you have to start if you're not familiar with editing a text file. if you're having trouble getting the file edited properly, give me a moment and I'll fix it up and post it here.

as far as I can tell, the attached version should work with the current download unless something drastic has changed inside the file.

johnsonx42, there was a catch all version for WinTV7 v2 knocking about but it never made it to the wiki because I ran out of steam and couldn't test with a 64 bit machine.

Here: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post407466

the only issue was it ended up deleting the WinTV download. But that is just 2 lines to delete? Maybe some steam can be found for it to go back on the wiki?

not even two lines to delete, just the second to last line. looks fine otherwise.

ah, yes, of course, if it's not going to delete the file it should say it's doing it either. you were right then, 2 lines to delete.

The first instruction in the wiki is wrong, it is not UAC friendly besides it is done by the bat file.

(1.Create a folder for WinTV7 and SoftPVR in the Windows Program Files Directory (eg "C:\Program Files\WinTV\WinTV7\SoftPVR"). )
